Retiling

Finish the long-postponed fixer upper.. every time it rained the parquet beside the sliding would warp.. remedied by changing parquet tiles with ceramic tiles.. was just too lazy to finish a 1-day project. I finished this in 2 weeks. I had to because the house would host the last (hopefully not) party ever to be held at home.

My daughter was having an after wedding party at the house and it had to be presentable.

The problem was the parquet flooring directly to the foot of the entrance sliding door kept warping every time it rained and the rain would seep in from under the sliding door.  My solution was to tile the affected parquet flooring so that even water seeped in, it wouldn’t affect the surrounding parquet.

I went to the store at the building beside and chose long tiles (will update you on the dimensions later) initially measured the tiles available. and decided on the long tiles, as compared to the initial smaller tile I got (image 1).

When I got the tiles, I wouldn’t say I went down to doing the task, I actually took my own sweet time as there were stubborn parquet tiles that were actually stuck hard on the cement floor.

Anyway by the time I got to actually finishing taking out the parquet and instead of using cement, I instead used some sort of adhesive which I spread crisscrossing.

If I did this upgrade with determination, I would have finished in just one morning. At any rate, it was well worth the effort.
